Mirage Blinds

Mirage day and night blind in a Coventry living room showing alternating sheer and opaque stripes, fitted by Coventry Blinds

Most blinds make you choose: light in, or privacy. Mirage blinds — also known as day & night blinds or vision blinds — give you both at the same time. It’s one of the cleverer ideas in the blinds world, and once customers see them in action they tend to wonder why they didn’t fit them sooner.

We’ve been fitting Mirage blinds across Coventry and Warwickshire since 2007 from our own family-run workshop on Endemere Road. Every blind is made to your exact window dimensions and fitted by our team — not subcontracted.

How do Mirage blinds actually work?

Mirage blinds are made from a single piece of fabric that wraps continuously around the bottom bar. The fabric alternates between sheer mesh stripes and solid opaque stripes. Rotate the fabric with the control chain to align the stripes for the effect you want:

  • Daytime — align the sheer panels to let soft diffused light into the room. You can still see out, but the mesh softens glare and gives you a degree of privacy.
  • Evening — align the solid panels to block the light completely and get full privacy with a room-darkening effect.

The transition between the two is smooth and immediate. Simple idea, works brilliantly in practice.

Where Mirage blinds work best

We fit Mirage blinds in kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms and home offices all across Coventry and Warwickshire. They’re especially good in rooms where your light needs change through the day — a kitchen that wants morning sunshine but afternoon shade, or a home office where you need glare control without losing the daylight entirely.

They’re also available in moisture-resistant fabrics for kitchens and bathrooms where humidity matters.

Why fitting matters here especially

The two fabric layers need to be perfectly aligned to work properly — if the fitting is even slightly off, the blind won’t close cleanly. It looks like a simple installation but needs to be done with care. We measure precisely, fit the track exactly square to the window, and test the alignment fully before we leave. All our Mirage blinds are fitted with BBSA-certified child safety features as standard.

If you’d like motorised operation (popular for wider windows or for remote-control convenience), we can install and set that up at the same time.

Come and see them working

The single best way to decide if Mirage blinds are right for you is to see one in action in your actual room. We’ll bring samples to your home as part of the free survey, demonstrate the day/night transition, and follow up with a clear written quote — no obligation. Call us on 02476 661092 or book online.

Frequently Asked Questions — Mirage Blinds Coventry

Are Mirage blinds the same as day & night blinds or vision blinds?

Yes — mirage, day & night, vision and zebra blinds all describe the same dual-layer design. Different manufacturers use different names for essentially the same product.

Can Mirage blinds be motorised?

Yes — we fit a motor at installation. Motorised Mirage blinds operate by remote, wall switch, or via smart home integration with Alexa and Google Home.

Are Mirage blinds suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes — we offer moisture-resistant fabrics that wipe clean and handle humidity well. We’d recommend the moisture-resistant version for any bathroom or kitchen that gets steamy.

How long do Mirage blinds last?

Our Mirage blinds use aluminium headrails and quality polyester fabrics built for daily use. With normal care, expect 8-12 years of smooth operation. We still service Mirage blinds we fitted shortly after opening in 2007.
