Mirage Blinds

Most blinds make you choose: either let the light in, or have your privacy. Mirage blinds — also called day and night blinds or vision blinds — give you both at the same time.
They’re one of the most clever window dressings available, and once customers see how they work, they often wish they’d fitted them sooner.
How do mirage blinds work?
Mirage blinds are made from a single piece of fabric that wraps continuously around the bottom bar. The fabric alternates between sheer mesh stripes and solid opaque stripes. By rotating the fabric with the control chain, you align the stripes to get exactly the effect you want:
During the day, align the sheer panels to let soft, diffused light into the room — you can still see out, but the mesh softens glare and maintains a degree of privacy.
In the evening, align the solid panels to block the light completely, giving you full privacy and a room-darkening effect.
The transition between the two is smooth and immediate. It’s a simple idea that works brilliantly in practice.
Where do they work best?
We’ve fitted mirage blinds in kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, and home offices all across Coventry. They work especially well in rooms where your light needs change throughout the day — a kitchen where you want morning light but afternoon shade, or a home office where you need glare control without losing natural light entirely.
They’re also available in moisture-resistant fabrics for bathrooms and kitchens where humidity might be an issue.
What makes our fitting different
The two fabric layers need to be perfectly aligned to work properly — if the fitting is slightly off, the blind won’t operate as it should. It’s one of those jobs that looks simple but needs to be done carefully.
We measure precisely, ensure the track fits the window correctly, and test the mechanism fully before we leave. We also fit all our mirage blinds with BBSA-certified child safety features as standard.
If you’d like motorised operation — popular for larger windows or for those who prefer remote control — we can install and set that up at the same time.

We bring samples to your home as part of our free survey. Seeing a mirage blind in action in your own room, with your own natural light, is by far the best way to decide if they’re right for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are mirage blinds the same as day and night blinds or vision blinds?
Yes — mirage, day and night, and vision blinds all refer to the same dual-layer blind design. Different manufacturers use different names for the same product.
Can mirage blinds be motorised?
Yes. We can fit a motor at the time of installation. Motorised mirage blinds can be operated by remote, wall switch, or smart home devices including Alexa and Google Home.
Are they suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?
We offer moisture-resistant fabrics that are easy to wipe down, making them suitable for kitchens and bathrooms.
Are they durable?
Our mirage blinds use aluminium headrails and quality polyester fabrics built for daily use. With normal care they should last many years.
