Pleated Blinds

Pleated blinds

Pleated blinds are the ones people often overlook — until they see them fitted. They fold away to almost nothing when raised, they can be made for windows that most other blinds can’t handle, and in their thermal honeycomb form, they’re among the most energy-efficient window dressings available.

We’ve fitted pleated blinds in conservatories, skylights, shaped windows, and standard bedrooms all across Coventry. If you’re not sure whether they’re right for your window, the survey visit will tell us.

Why pleated blinds work so well in conservatories

Most conservatories have angled roof panels that standard roller or Roman blinds simply can’t fit. Pleated blinds are different — the fabric can be cut and tensioned to fit even steeply angled or triangular panels, sitting flat against the glazing without sagging.

Fitted across a conservatory roof, they make a significant difference to temperature — blocking summer heat and retaining warmth in winter. Combined with pleated or Perfect Fit blinds on the side windows, the whole room becomes much more usable.

Thermal honeycomb blinds

The most thermally efficient pleated blinds use a honeycomb or cellular fabric. When viewed from the side, the fabric forms a series of hexagonal air pockets. Those pockets trap air and act as an insulating barrier right at the glass surface.

For older Coventry homes with larger, draughtier windows, or conservatories that are cold in winter, honeycomb blinds make a real practical difference. We stock a range of single and double-cell fabrics at different price points.

Perfect Fit pleated blinds

For uPVC windows, our Perfect Fit pleated blinds are a particularly tidy solution. The frame clips directly into the rubber bead of the window — no screws, no brackets, no drilling. The blind moves with the window when you tilt it, and there are no gaps around the edges.

Top-down, bottom-up control

One of the most useful options for pleated blinds is top-down/bottom-up operation — controlling the blind from both the top and the bottom independently. Want light coming in from the top of the window while keeping the bottom section private from the street? This is the mechanism for it.

It sounds technical but it’s simple to use once fitted. We demonstrate how it works at every installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can pleated blinds fit skylights?

Yes — pleated blinds are one of the best options for skylights and roof lights. They can be tensioned to lie flat against the glass and are available with UV-resistant fabrics.

Are they available in blackout?

Yes. We stock blackout pleated fabrics for bedrooms and media rooms.

How do you clean them?

Most pleated fabrics can be gently vacuumed with a soft brush attachment or wiped with a damp cloth. We’ll advise on care during fitting.

Do you fit honeycomb blinds to conservatory roofs?

Yes — it’s one of our most common conservatory blind requests. We measure each roof panel individually and manufacture to the exact dimensions.
