A manual awning extends and retracts using a smooth hand-crank mechanism. You insert the crank handle, turn it in one direction to extend the awning, the other to bring it back. The mechanism is geared so it takes very little effort — most customers find it noticeably easier than they expected.
Are manual awnings cheaper than electric?
Yes, significantly. There’s no motor, no electrical install, no wiring back to your fuse board, and no smart sensors. That removes a meaningful chunk from the upfront cost and means there’s genuinely less to go wrong over the awning’s lifetime.
Will I be able to operate a manual awning easily?
